“The reason why the universe is eternal is that it does not live for itself; it gives life to others as it transforms” - Lao Tzu

there goes the neighbourhood… The Netherlands will be like the rest of the world when this year ends. Weed is no longer an option for our neighbour countries, and we can’t use our Paspoort cause it’s to racist… a couple of club member card will take care of that.
This country is raped, I need to get out.
Since this absurd policy severely frustrates a lot of my friends, including Feifel, who I reblogged this from, and since I tend to get strong urges to point out stupid (and in my opinion hilarious) flaws in laws and legislation, I’ll give those of you that want to do some reading (and if you appreciate the slightly off-base humour, have a laugh) a little extra information on the subject.
This is about the city Maastricht of the Dutch province Limburg, and Maastricht as of February 2012 has 121.010 inhabitants. This new club membership card that is supposed to stop people from outside of the country from buying cannabis or entering the ‘coffeeshop’ where it is sold. (Note that this is only implemented in the southern provinces of The Netherlands as of May 1st, 2012, it is not yet required in the rest of the country, and won’t be until January 1st, 2013, so people could still drive up north from Germany, Belgium and France, causing more overfilled motorways and other issues all from south to north.) A coffeeshop can register 2000 members at most, and to complete a little mathematical problem here, I’ll let you know that the city of Maastricht plays host to 14 of these coffeeshops.
I won’t make you do the math yourself, just in case that’s a problem, I’ll just give the answer to you here, it means only roughly 23.1%(14×2000/121,010×100%) of the population of Maastricht, is allowed to buy cannabis, since there are simply not enough memberships available to the city of Maastricht’s coffeeshops.
So, not only is it illegal for people that live outside of The Netherlands to buy cannabis there, it’s also illegal for 76.9% of the people that live not only in The Netherlands, but actually within the city limits of where the coffeeshops are located. This is undoubtedly true for every city that has to adhere to this new law, though the exact numbers may vary.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little bit of information and will join me in the silent laughter at the intelligence of the politicians that govern my country. :)

Started writing some longer and deeper philosophical works, figured it was time.
Will post when done.
Philosophy 101
You don’t have to think about everything you see or do, but it is important to see what you’re seeing, and to do what you’re doing or you risk not having seen or done anything at all.
Any questions?
For the very few people that actually see this, feel free to ask me any question about anything, don’t let “Risk an answer” scare you off, it’s just the internet folks.
Philosophy 101
When you introduce an idea to the world around you, always realise your words may outlive you and your children, and could have great consequences in the future, both good and bad.
I was done posting, but then this happened while I was training.
Rest In Peace, my friend, you have taught me much over the years.
